Doctor Who: The Adventure Games – Episode Four: Shadows of the Vashta Nerada

I ended up going through this episode several times – I went back to get things I missed and then I lost my recording of the first Act – so that may have marred my impression of this episode.  (It is also why you won’t find any of the collectable locations in my walkthrough videos.)

My Review of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games – Episode Four: Shadows of the Vashta Nerada

Upon meeting Jones, the computer, I was worried that this would be much like the episode Silence in the Library, but the story turned out to be fairly interesting.

Another concern was the character Oswald. In many classic Doctor Who adventures there is one character who doesn’t listen to the Doctor and tries to continue with their mission despite the weird occurrences and even deaths. At first, I thought this was the case with Oswald, but I realized that he was really concerned for the people under his command by trying to get them to safety. That was a nice twist. 🙂

This episode also featured similar gameplay to what I enjoyed in Blood of the Cybermen, “fighting” the Vashta Nerada divers in the generator and in the Eldridge bilge pump rooms. 😀
